My creative non fiction writing and motivational speaking draw on my Cold War childhood abroad; surviving a near-death illness overseas; and what our rescue Lab and therapy dog has taught me about love.
My first book, Embassy Kid: An American Foreign Service Family Memoir, is now out from the Association for Diplomatic Studies and Training and Westphalia Press. I am currently writing A Family for Kumba and Amsterdam Strong: Love, Compassion, and Resilience.
Speaking topics include Making Your Own Home: A Third Culture Kid Perspective; Lessons in Fitness: Being Strong Might Save Your Life; and Who Rescued Who: Following Kumba Down the Compassion Pathway.
I live in South Florida with my husband and our rescue Lab and therapy dog, Kumba. Contact me at realembassykid@gmail.com or (561) 942-4915.
